Tutorial Tuesday with Elizabeth!

Hi everyone! This is Elizabeth from 217 Creations.  this week is my turn to share a tutorial with our fabulous readers here at Frosted Designs!

Today I am going to show you how to make a Washi Tape Banner for cards, layouts, and altered items.
First Cut your self a length of twine or string.  You could also use really thin ribbon. Choose your Washi Tape colors.
Make a pattern of Washi Tape strips, folding the torn strips in half and wrapping around the twine.

Take a sharp pair of scissors and trim each strip into a pennant shape. I start at the outside corner and work inward on each side.
Create a card base. Mine is made with Teresa Collins paper "Memories".
Next apply a small pop dot on the back of each pennant.  I like pop dots because they are somewhat forgiving for placement.
Now place your a banner across your card.

I love this color combination! The pop dots really allow the banner to stand out.

Thank you as always for taking the time to leave a comment and for subscribing to us here at Frosted Designs and on my personal blog at 217 Creations

Guest Designer Stephanie Eaken!

We'd like to welcome today Stephanie Eaken, our Guest Designer for our
Fabulous Friday Sketch + Doilies Challenge!
My name is Stephanie Eaken & I am a 40 year-old stay-at-home mom. I am so excited to be guest designing here at Frosted Designs!!
I have two kids who keep me busy, entertained & scrapping! My daughter is 10 & my son is 6. We live in Richmond, VA with my husband of 14 years & our two dogs. We are all big canine lovers & enjoy the extra love our house is filled with by having 2 furry companions. We enjoy taking them out on excursions too. They are a huge part of our family!
I love all things related to scrapbooking! I started scrapping about 9 years ago when my oldest was a baby & have not stopped!! I intended to make a book of her first year only. Well, there was no looking back for me once I began. I was hooked!!
I look forward to my scrappy time in my space in our basement. I would describe my style as eclectic. I love trying new and different things and techniques. I also tend to like the hot, new trends. I am always evolving. I scrapbook 12x12 pages, mini albums, and occassionally make cards & OTPs. I love working with kits, sketches and online challenges!! Paper and glue have been longtime friends of mine!
Here is a link to my blog www.stephanie-eaken.blogspot.com. I would love for you to visit, & become a follower if you like what you see!
Thanks so much for allowing me to guest with you guys!!

Tuesday Tutorial with Deena!

I would like to share with you how to use a product called Mask It. It comes from X-Press It, it is a low tack film that provides you with many possibilities

Mask It
Tools Required:
Mask It
Sharpe Blade
Ink
2 different stamps
Heat Gun
Card Stock

When choosing the stamps start with one that that has an easy shape to cut around and the second stamp as a background. To begin first stamp the shape that you want to mask. For quick drying use the heat gun. ce

Once image is dry cut a piece of the Mask-It that will completely cover the stamped image, you dont need any excess as you are going to cut away the film and just leave it on the image.

When cutting the film, dont press to hard as you want to cut the film only and not the card underneath, which is why I suggested you use a simple shape to get the feel for it. Make sure that your blade is sharp if need be put in a brand new blade, will make it just that little bit easier as you dont have to press as hard.

Once you have finished cutting the film, carefully remove the Mask-It that is not covering the stamped image. Do it slowly just in case you have not cut all the way through, this allows you to carefully recut the film in the right spot.

Now that excess film has been removed ink up your second stamp and stamp over the top of your first image.

After you have stamped your second image it is time to remove the film that is covering your image.

Mask-It can be used in many ways, create your own shape and use it as a stencil, stamp an image and then colour the card around it. Before putting the Mask It over the first stamped image colour it in.

Hope that this tutorial has sparked your imagination, Happy Creating.
